From the Mellange d'Orlande de Lassus, 1570.
Lyrics: Anon, probably the composer
One day I found a lover and his lass under a bush
Playing until sleep in the highly prized game.
Hidden in the greenery, the lover did what came naturally,
And his girl acquitted herself well.
I heard a nightingale within the bush
Loudly singing of the activity below.
The finch must needs give credit in song,
And the lark on top of the bush to the lovers said "Courage".
