Arnold, "Philo-Harmoniae, Organist of Great-Warley, Essex", is principally remembered for his West Gallery style psalmody. He included this glee in the 1786 edition of his Essex Harmony. It is possible that this piece, together with his redrafting of Michael East's "How merrily we live" (see notAmos edition), was produced for use during the king and queen's two-day military review at Warley Camp, 1778, commemorated in paintings by de Loutherbourg.
Lyrics: Anon, probably the composer
Here's a health to the king; King George I mean'
And likewise to Charlotte, our gracious queen,
And the rest of the royal family,
Also wishing them health and prosperity.
Huzza.
Here's a health to all loyal jovial souls,
Who'll laugh and will quaff over flowing bowls;
And old Care we will mind no more than elves,
And we'll now drink a health to our noble selves.
Huzza.
Here's a health to the king; King George I mean'
And likewise to Charlotte, our gracious queen,
And the rest of the royal family,
Also wishing them health and prosperity.
Huzza.
Here's a health to all loyal jovial souls,
Who'll laugh and will quaff over flowing bowls;

And we'll now drink a health to our noble selves.
