Included in Warren's twelfth collection of glees and catches without attribution, this is one of those catches that is more lubricious in performance than the anodyne lyrics might suggest (although the mention of a character named Roger will have warned the seasoned catch-singer of the delights to come). This edition comprises a modern realisation, and a statement of the piece in its original specialised format.

Lyrics: Anon

Twas on a bright morning, a morning in May,
The lads and the lasses all went out to play;
The birds from each bush with a song did delight 'em,
The merry pipe and tabor to dance did invite 'em;
Then to it they buckled, each lad with his lass,
Led by Susan and Roger upon the green grass.
