From Atterbury's collection, Op. 3, published posthumously for his widow.

Lyrics: Anon

Haste to Bacchus' shrine with pleasure,
Haste to crown the goblet's height;
Who shall scorn the golden treasure,
Fraught with rapture and delight?

He, my friends, all grief will banish,
And instruct the willing mind,
When the shades of care shall vanish,
To be gen'rous, good and kind.

Fondly let the wretched miser
View those sums he can't enjoy;
We, my friends, content and wiser,
Taste those sweets that ne'er can cloy.
