One of a set of six airs from the Beggar's Opera harmonized for three voices for concert performance.

Lyrics: John Gay

The charge is prepared, the lawyers are met,
The judges all ranged; a terrible shew.
I go undismayed, for death is a debt;
A debt on demand to pay what I owe.
Then farewell my love, my dear charmer adieu,
Contented to die, 'tis the better for you.
Here ends all contention the rest of our lives,
For this way, at once I please all of my wives.
