Holder described himself in the frontispiece of his collection of glees, Op. 6 as organist of Bungay, Suffolk.

Lyrics: William Collins

In yonder grave a druid lies,
While slowly winds the stealing wave;
The years' best sweets shall duteous rise
To deck its poet's sylvan grave.
The maids and youths shall linger here
And, while its sounds at distance dwell,
Shall sadly seem in Pity's ear
To hear the woodland pilgrim's knell.
Yet once again, dear parted shade,
Meek Nature's child, adieu.
