From Paxton's "Selection of two songs, six glees and two catches", published posthumously as his Op. 7.

Lyrics: S. Collin(g)s

Fain would I weave a garland fair
To deck my Delia's auburn hair;
To suit her blushing beauty, bring
The roseate treasures of the spring.
The plain a dreary desert lies,
And winter the sweet boon denies.
But ah, the frozen fields impart
Too true an image of her heart.
