Pater peccavi in coelum et coram te.
Iam non sum dignus vocari filius tuus,
fac me sicut unum ex mercenariis tuis.
Quanti mercenarii in domo Patris mei abundant panibus,
ego autem hic fame pereo,
Surgam, et ibo ad Patrem meum et dicam ei:
Fac me sicut unum ex mercenariis tuis..
Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee;
And am no more worthy to be called thy son:
make me as one of thy hired servants.
How many hired servants of my Father's have bread enough and to spare,
and I perish with hunger!
I will arise and go to my father and say unto him:
Make me as one of thy hired servants.
