A motet for Christmas Day. Vecchi is not to be confused with his better-known contemporary, Orazio Vecchi.
Lyrics: Various

Gloria in excelsis Deo: et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
Ecce Maria genuit nobis Salvatorem quem Joannes videns exclamavit dicens:
Ecce Agnus Dei qui tollit peccata mundi.
Haec est dies quam fecit Dominus exultemus et laetetur in ea.
Ave Maria gratia plena Dominus tecum beata virgo cuius viscera meruerunt portare Dominum Christum.
Gloria in excelsis Deo: et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.
Germinavit radix Jesse, orta est Stella ex Jacob,
virgo peperit Salvatorem Te laudamus Deus noster.
Haec est dies quam fecit Dominus exultemus et laetetur in ea.
Nato Domino angelorum chori canebant dicentes:
Gloria in excelsis Deo: et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis.

Glory be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men.
Behold, Mary gave birth to our Saviour, of whom John, seeing him, exclaimed:
Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.
This is the day which the Lord hath made, let us be glad and rejoice therein.
Hail Mary, full of grace: the Lord is with you. Blessed is the Virgin whose womb was worthy to bear Christ the Lord.
Glory be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men.
The Root of Jesse hath budded, the Star hath come out of Jacob,
the Virgin hath borne the Saviour: we praise thee, O our God.
This is the day which the Lord hath made, let us be glad and rejoice therein.
Choirs of angels sang at the birth of the Lord, saying:
Glory be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men.
