Edition prepared from Florilegii musici Portensis, Leipzig, 1621.
Lyrics: Psalm 68, v. 2 - 5
Exurgat Deus, et dissipentur inimici ejus: et fugiant qui oderunt eum a facie ejus.
Sicut deficit fumus, deficiant: sicut fluit cera a facie ignis, sic pereant peccatores a facie Dei.
Et justi epulentur, et exultent in conspectu Dei, et delectentur in lætitia.
Cantate Deo; psalmum dicite nomini ejus: iter facite ei qui ascendit super occasum. Dominus nomen illi.
Let God arise, and let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
Like as the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou drive them away:
and like as wax melteth at the fire, so let the ungodly perish at the presence of God.
But let the righteous be glad and rejoice before God: let them also be merry and joyful.
O sing unto God, and sing praises unto his Name: magnify him that rideth upon the heavens, as it were upon an horse; praise him in his Name.
