An anthem for Christmas Day. From "A new book of psalmody", first edition, 1730 (with corrections incorporated from later editions). Printed for the author in London, although he is believed to have been active in Leominster.
Lyrics: Luke ch. 2, vv. 10-14

Behold, I bring you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day a saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be the sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men".
