Epiphany motet. Hoyoul has inverted the first phrase of the standard text (veniunt magi ab oriente), but otherwise the setting is as usual.
Lyrics: Anon
Ab oriente venerunt magi
Ierosolimam quærentes et dicentes:
Ubi est qui natus est Rex Iudæorum
cuius stellam vidimus?
Et venimus adorare Dominum.
The wise men came from the East
searching for Jerusalem and saying:
Where is he that is born King of the Jews,
whose star we have seen?
And we have come to worship the Lord.
Ab oriente venerunt magi
Ierosolimam quærentes et dicentes:
Ubi est qui natus est Rex Iudæorum
cuius stellam vidimus?
Et venimus adorare Dominum.
The wise men came from the East
searching for Jerusalem and saying:
Where is he that is born King of the Jews,
whose star we have seen?
And we have come to worship the Lord.
