The original four-part version of de Sermisy's chanson, publ. 1534 (the later three-part version was published in 1539, and is also available at notAmos). This edition is offered at original pitch for S.A.T.B. or transposed down a fourth for A.T.T.B. A version arranged for dance band is appended. This piece is intended for dancing, and should be reinforced by percussion, observing the rhythms suggested by e.g. Thoinot Arbeau.

Au joli bois, en l'ombre d'un buisson,
En attendant passer ma marrisson;
Et que j'aurai ma volonté parfaite.

Out of spite, I'm going alone
to the greenwood, to a bush's shade,
Waiting for my mardiness to disperse;
And that is my express wish.
